Teaching with Technology
The typical teenager spends 7 hours and 38 minutes a day being exposed to technology, according to a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation. This includes anything from texting their friends and posting messages on Facebook to playing video games and watching television. So, if students are constantly using various forms of technology in their free time, why don't we as teachers incorporate more technology into the classroom?
During my student teaching, I recognized the value of incorporating technology during my lessons. From using document cameras and videos to spending days researching in the computer lab, these types of lessons sparked students' interest and engagement.
The following lessons illustrate my use of technology in the classroom:
1. Using a Document Camera
2. Using the Computer Lab
3. Using Classroom Websites
4. Using Video Clips
